Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. : “0-8-4”Posted: October 2, 2013
Because Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t official part of the schedule yet (if i reviewed every show I watch, I would have no time for my real job), I’m experimenting with these posts. So this week I decide to try a photo recap/review of the second episode “0-8-4.” Let’s see how this goes.
First off I need to address the most important thing I have noticed over the first two episodes:
This girl is a morph of Summer Glau and Eliza Dushku. Joss Whedon, did you grow her in a lab or something?
Skye (Chloe Bennet) has joined Agent Coulson’s (Clark Gregg) special team and is on board for their mission to locate a 0-8-4 in Peru. The last 0-8-4 he dealt with was a hammer. Hey, that was in the only non-Avengers Avenger movie I saw. My sister has the hots for Thor. I didn’t real like that movie either. The big fight scene reminded me of the Power Rangers. Anyway, the team lands in Peru.
(Totally not Serenity)
The team locates the 0-8-4 in an Aztec ruin. It is stuck in the wall and Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) tells us it is the teser-thingy from Caption America and The Avengers. Luckily Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) is also there to tell us it is nuclear and might go boom. Skye is realizing she can’t be very helpful at this part and is trying to figure out what her place is. Meanwhile, Ward (Brett Dalton) and May (Ming-Na Wen) have a tense conversation. She tells us she doesn’t like to be called “The Calvary,” which is a legendary SHIELD hero that not even FitzSimmons know she is. Then they get attacked by an army and start the first of the episodes many fight scenes.
“If I need a firearm, I will take one.” Or two and the award for biggest badass and best one-liners.
Coulson leaves the Ward-dubbed non-combat ready kids and goes outside to see what is going on.
Commander Love Interest/Commander Hispanic Bo Dennis/ Commander Michelle Rodriguez was unavailable
reporting for duty.
Coulson and Camilla Reyes (Leonor Varela) reunite because they are old friend, who might have been special friends but Coulson said that is classified. The SHIELD gang and her army work together until they are attacked by rebels creating the second fight scene and a car chase. Fitz is worried they might explode, Simmons is doing her best to help, Ward is commanding, Skye is questioning her decision and May doesn’t have time for this shit. Luckily, they all make it back to Serenity safely and bring some of the soldiers with them. But, the team is not getting along so well.
Jayne and Simon fight as a concerned Faith looks on.
Coulson tells everyone to play nice and that basically just results and everyone dividing into groups. FitzSimmons do science stuff and bickers in amazing accents. Coulson apologizes to May for all the combat he promised would not happen before going to have possible sexy times with Camilla. And Skye ends up with her possible love interest Ward. Skye tries to explain her earlier comment that rebellions are cool by saying sometimes not one person has 100 percent of the solution but 100 people have one percent of the solution.
I’m hunky, I’m annoyed and I’m judging you.
Ward then sees an unexplained flash by two of the soldiers playing cards and amazingly that caused me to panic that everything was about to go wrong. Coulson figures it out about a second later, but it is too late. Mae has been gassed, an evil solider is flying the plane. Ward, Skye, Coulson and Camilla are locked in the episodes third fight scene. And this happened to the adorable scientists with accents.
Help! The blazers, plaid and skinny ties couldn’t save us!
Coulson gets tied up by Camilla and the rest of the gang is tied to the cargo door. Coulson tells Camilla she made a mistake because she gave them a common enemy, which will help them get over their differences.
Quick! We need to be like the Scooby Gang or the crew of Serenity or…why didn’t the people from Dollhouse have a group name?
The team bands together and figures out a way to get to Coulson and retrieve the 0-8-4. But it involves blowing a hole in the side of the plane, nearly killing Coulson, Ward punching multiple people, an inflatable raft and May saying “You guys talk to much” before driving an SUV through a glass door. I’m so glad I started watching this show. They save the day and Coulson congratulates them for succeeding as unconventional as it was.
We did it! Can we get drunk now?
And they do, adorably on the edge of the cargo bay while all covering for each other when Coulson asks who decide to blow a hole in his airplane. They get the nuclear boom thing to The Slingshot, a base in a classified dessert location and watch it get shot into space. But then, Skye gets a text from the Rising Tide asking her if she is still on track and she replies “I’m in.”
Episode three conflict face
Then there was a guest star, who scolded Coulson for trashing the plane and said they couldn’t get a fish tank.
I’m tired of these motherfucking holes in this motherfucking plane!
This episode was fun. This show is fun. And so was this photo recap, I might do this again next week.
